We are looking for experienced MIG Welder for our client in United Kingdom, New Zealand and Northern Ireland.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities;
- Studies engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences;
- May chip off excess weld, slag and splatter;
- Perform welding work involving a high degree of precision;
- Welding if flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions;
- Lifting, moving, and holding or clamping work pieces to table, into jigs, or into position as directed manually or by using pry bar;
- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts;
- May manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal;
- Candidates will be required to work in confined spaces both on board naval ships and in a shop environment;
- Utilizing FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-P, & SMAW;
- Candidates will also be required to climb up and down ladders and stairs;
- Aligns and fits parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers;
- Positions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting;
- Moving work pieces, tools, and supplies, manually or by hand truck;
- Read and understand blueprints, designs and plans;
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Applicants Requirements
- NVQ 3 or Above qualification.
- Min.3 years’ experience
- MIG welding: 3 years (preferred)
- Fabrication: 1 year (preferred)
